A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a commuter was allegedly pushed under a Tube train today.

The victim was shoved in the path of a Northern Line train at Kentish Town station just before midday, it is claimed.

He was being treated in hospital for "life-changing injuries" tonight, police said.

His attacker was said to have fled after the assault and boarded a northbound train heading towards High Barnet station.

British Transport Police said a 29-year-old man from Colindale had this evening "voluntarily" spoken to police about the incident.

A spokesman said: “The man voluntarily attended a London police station.

“He is currently in police custody helping officers with their enquiries.

“I would like to thank the public and the media for their help."
