A man is in a serious condition in hospital after being stabbed in a residential street in Lewisham last night.

The man in his 30s was found with a stab wound to the stomach in Beacon Road at 5.33pm on Sunday, July 19.

Police said they were called to the area after reports of a stabbing and the man was taken to a south London hospital by ambulance.

He is said to be in a serious but stable condition.

A 38-year-old man was arrested in connection with the stabbing and is currently in custody at a south London police station.

Enquiries are ongoing.
