A teenage boy was rushed to hospital after being stabbed in the neck in south London on Monday night.

Officers said they were called to reports of a stabbing and found the 17-year-old boy suffering from a stab wound in Perry Vale, Forest Hill.

Paramedics and London’s Air Ambulance raced to the scene and the boy was taken to hospital. His condition has since been assessed as “non life-threatening,” said Scotland Yard.

Officers said that another male was arrested in connection with the incident.

A crime scene remains in place at the site of the stabbing where officers are still on the scene.

The incident had temporarily forced some rail services to be unable to stop at nearby Forest Hill station.

Southern Rail tweeted at the time of the incident: “Police are dealing with an incident at Forest Hill, which means we cannot stop at the station. Services will run non-stop between Honor Oak Park and Sydenham.”
