A man has been arrested over allegations he posted photos of a Grenfell Tower victim’s body on social media.

The 43-year-old was detained at around 6pm on Wednesday near Latimer Road station, close to the scene of Wednesday’s devastating fire, Scotland Yard said.

At least 12 people were confirmed dead in the Notting Hill tower block blaze by Thursday morning.

Police warned that number was expected to rise as the investigation continued.

A spokesman for the Met Police said: “A 43-year-old man was arrested near to Latimer Road station at around 6pm on Wednesday, 14 June, on suspicion of sending malicious communications and obstructing a coroner.

“The arrest relates to the fire at Grenfell Tower.

“The man has been to a west London police station where he remains in custody.”
