A man has been cautioned for shining a laser into the eyes of a bus driver.

The man, 22, was arrested after targeting the driver in Ealing Road, Alperton, on Friday.

Police said he was then interviewed and handed a police caution for causing danger to a road user.

The incident comes amid increasing concern over the growing number of laser strikes, especially against pilots.

The Civil Aviation Authority recorded more than 1,300 incidents in each of the four years from 2010, compared with only 20 in 2005.

Lasers can cause flash blindness and even damage the retina when directed into the eyes.
