A man has been arrested on suspicion of murdering an 11-year-old girl and 31-year-old woman.
Officers were called to a house in Gloucester during the early hours of Monday after receiving reports that two people had been seriously injured.
A girl and woman were declared dead at the scene, Gloucestershire Police said.
"A 28-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of the murder of the woman and the girl," a spokesman added.
"Cordons will remain in place at locations linked to the investigation while our inquiries continues.
"No further details are available at this time."
Police were called to Dexter Way, near the River Severn, at 4.50am. Cordons remain in place at locations linked to the investigation.
