A man has been charged with murder after a 37-year-old was found dead in a park in north east London.

The body of Yassar Mustakim Moussa was discovered in St James Park, Walthamstow, last week.

A member of the public called the emergency services just after 1.30pm after Mr Moussa was found unresponsive.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

A post-mortem examination found his official cause of death to be a stab wound to the neck.

Richard Hand, 42, of Falmouth Way, Walthamstow, was charged with murder on Sunday, Scotland Yard said.

He will appear at Thames Magistrates' Court on Monday.
