Police have charged a man with burglary after they issued an appeal to trace a person filmed in a garden by a camera put there to capture footage of wildlife.

Footage shot on a 'Fox Family' camera installed by BBC Springwatch presenter Simon King in south London shows a man apparently climbing into the garden before moving around it.

The film, captured on January 12, was shot in Hollingbourne Road, Herne Hill at around 3.46am.

Police said Nigel Batton, 42 or Marischal Road SE13 had been charged with one count of burglary and one count of attempted burglary. He will appear on bail at Camberwell Green Magistrates' Court on 14 February.
