A man murdered his housemate at their east London home because he did not like the way he was spoken to during a fight.
Twenty-six-year-old Bartosz Rejmanski was convicted on Tuesday of the brutal killing of Grzegorz Raczek – a man more than twice his age – after an argument broke out in their East Ham flat.
Father-of-two Mr Raczek and his tattooed killer were crammed into the multiple occupancy flat, police said.
The fight took place the evening of March 28.
Cornering Mr Raczek in his bedroom, Rejmanski ferociously attacked his housemate, 57, leaving him with a fatal head injury.
Paramedics were called and battled to save the older man but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigation lead Det Insp John Marriott said: “This was a particularly brutal murder and I am pleased with today’s conviction, especially for the family of Grzegorz Raczek, who he had left and come to England to support.
“His senseless death leaves his wife alone with massive difficulties in supporting their two children.”
A Met spokesman said the fatal blows were dealt after an argument between the men.
“Unhappy with the way Mr Raczek had spoken to him, the argument escalated to the point where Rejmanski attacked Mr Raczek in his room, ultimately killing him,” he added.
