A man is fighting for his life in hospital after he was stabbed at a south east London petrol station.

The victim, believed to be 26, was found suffering from stab wounds in Westhorne Avenue, Eltham, yesterday at 8.55am.

Police were called to the scene, at the Clifton’s Roundabout Esso petrol station and Tesco supermarket, staying there for several hours.

The man was taken to a south London hospital where he remains in a critical condition, police say.

Another man, aged 28, was arrested near the scene and is currently in custody.
