Barking 'acid attack': Man injured in road rage clash outside east London children’s centre

A man has been injured in a suspected road rage acid attack outside a children’s centre.

Police were called at about midday on Tuesday to reports of an incident in Barking in which a “corrosive substance” was thrown.

A man – believed to be aged in his 30s – suffered minor injuries, Scotland Yard said.

The attack happened in North Street near Abbey Children’s Centre, however local police said the children’s centre was not involved.

Barking and Dagenham Police added in a tweet that it is believed to be a road rage incident at this stage.

A Met Police spokesman said: “Officers are on scene.

"A crime scene remains in place.

“No arrests have been made and enquiries into the circumstances continue.”
