A motorist was robbed at gunpoint after advertising his car for sale on Auto Trader, police said.

The victim was threatened with a silver handgun by a man who had used the second hand car website to arrange a visit to see the vehicle near his home in Walthamstow.

Officers are appealing for witnesses to the robbery, which happened in Church Lane on November 3 at about 7.40pm.

The suspect is described as Asian and of slim build with short, black hair and a short, black beard. He has a mole on his left cheek and speaks with a London accent, according to the victim.

He wore a brown hooded top and blue skinny jeans.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Waltham Forest Detectives on 0208 2760971 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
