A man was attacked by a group of teenagers who stabbed him twice after he refused to hand over his mobile phone, police said.

According to police, the victim was approached by the group of five or six youths, who produced a knife and demanded his mobile phone, threatening to stab him if he did not give it up.

After the 21-year-old man refused to give it to them, he was pushed to face a wall and stabbed twice in the hip.

The incident happened in Enfield High Street, Enfield at around 10pm yesterday.

Emergency services were called, and the victim was taken by London Ambulance Service to an east London hospital for treatment to his injuries, which were not life-threatening.

Police in Enfield are investigating the incident, which involved a group of youths aged between 15 and 16 years old. No arrests have yet been made.
