Man suffers serious injuries after stabbing in north west London

A man has been taken to hospital with serious injuries after he was stabbed on a road in north west London.

The victim, who police said is aged in his 20s, was attacked on Harrow Road, Brent, at about 8.15pm this evening.

He suffered a stab wound to the back of his leg which is not thought to be life-threatening, Scotland Yard said.

Police officers administered first aid at the scene before he was taken to hospital.

They later arrested a man aged in his 30s on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm. He is in custody at a west London police station this evening.

Pictures from the scene showed forensic tents being put up by police and a cordon being put in place.

The road was closed at the junction with Scrubs Lane while officers investigated, Transport for London said.

Detectives in Hammersmith and Fulham are investigating.
