A service police officer has been charged with making and possessing indecent images of children.

PC Grant Thomas, 40, who works with the Met training team, was charged on Thursday with four indecent image offences.

Thomas has been suspended from the force pending his appearance at Westminster Magistrates’ on Friday.

He was charged with making and possessing indecent images of children, publishing an “obscene article” and possessing and “extreme pornographic image”.

The Directorate of Professional Standards has been informed.
