Eltham: Motorcyclist, 57, dies in collision with a van in London

A 57-year-old man has died after a fatal collision between a van and a motorcycle in Eltham.

Police were called to reports of a collision on Rochester Way, SE9, at 6.35am on Wednesday.

The London Ambulance Service and London Air Ambulance also attended the scene in south-east London.

The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after.

His family has been informed and are being supported by specialist officers, the Metropolitan Police said.

The driver of the van stopped at the scene and has been assisting officers with their enquiries.

Detectives from the Roads and Transport Policing Command are investigating.

They would like to speak with anyone who saw the collision, or captured it on dashcam to come forward in an appeal for information.
