A minicab driver raped a fashion stylist who had fallen asleep in the back of his car, the Old Bailey heard.

Jama Adan, 38, agreed to take the woman home after a night out in Soho but pulled into a deserted car park when she dozed off, the jury was told.

The woman, who cannot be named for legal reasons, said she woke up to find Adan on top of her.

Prosecutor James Thacker told the court the woman and a friend had been out for late night dinner and drinks in January.

“She was going to get a night bus home but her friend had said you should be getting a cab,” he said.

Adan, one of the waiting licensed drivers, agreed to take the alleged victim home, the court heard.

Adan, of Shepherd’s Bush, was arrested the next day but told police there was no sexual contact. He denies rape. The trial continues.
