A murder investigation has been launched after a woman was found dead at a home in west London.

Police were called to an address in Eaton Rise, Ealing at 4.40pm yesterday after an alarm was raised for a woman’s welfare.

Officers found a body of a woman, in her 40s. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 49-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and is in police custody.

Scotland Yard said the woman’s next of kin are aware of her death but have not formally identified her.

A post-mortem examination will take place “in due course”.

The investigation was launched by the Met’s homicide and major crime command under the supervision of Detective Inspector Dave Reid.

Anyone with information should call police on 0208 721 4054. Alternatively Crimestoppers can be contacted, anonymously, on 0800 555 111 or via crimestoppers-uk.org.
