Murder probe launched after man stabbed to death during street brawl in Edmonton

A murder investigation has been launched after a man was stabbed to death in north east London.

Officers were called to reports of a large group of men fighting in Edmonton at around 2:27am, Scotland Yard said.

When they arrived on the scene in Haselbury Road, Edmonton, they found a man suffering from stab wounds.

Police provided medical assistance until paramedics arrives, but the man, aged in his 20s, died later in hospital.

Four teenage males have been arrested in connection with the incident and have been taken to north London police stations where they remain in custody.

A post-mortem examination will be held in due course, and police said the identity of the victim is known but formal identification is yet to take place.

Officers from the Homicide & Major Crime Command are investigating.
