A murder investigation has been launched after a young woman was stabbed to death in north London.
Police were called to reports of an assault at an address in Ridge Avenue, Winchmore Hill, shortly before 12.25pm on Saturday.
Paramedics from the London Ambulance Service attended and London’s Air Ambulance landed in nearby Bush Hill Gardens.
A Metropolitan Police Service spokesman said: “London Ambulance Service treated a woman aged in her 20s for stab and slash wounds but she was pronounced dead at the scene.
“Formal identification is yet to take place and a post-mortem examination will be arranged in due course.
"Detectives from the Homicide and Major Crime Command are investigating. At this stage, officers are treating the murder as a domestic incident."

A 28-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of murder. He was taken to an east London police station where he remained in custody on Sunday morning.
