A convicted murderer has been found after evading police for almost 100 days.

Lerone Boye, who murdered 17-year-old Kelvin Chibueze in August 2011, sparked a manhunt when he walked out of the medium security John Howard Centre in Hackney in October.

Boye was convicted of stabbing the teen to death at Arteflex Club in Ilford High Road, east London, where the victim was chased from a birthday party and attacked with broken bottles.

He was arrested in "a planned operation" at a house in Chigwell at around 3.55pm yesterday afternoon, police said.

He has now been taken to a north London police station, where he remains in custody.
