A man in his twenties has been left fighting for his life after being stabbed in north London.

The victim was rushed to hospital after police responded to reports of a knife attack in Muswell Hill in the early hours of Thursday.

He remained in a critical condition overnight, Scotland Yard said.

Police were called to Fortis Green Avenue at 1.40am.

Images from the scene showed a number of police cars lining the street as a cordon was put in place.

One man has been arrested on suspicion of GBH was in custody.

“The victim, a man in his twenties, was taken to hospital by London Ambulance Service,” a Met Police spokeswoman said:

“He is in a critical condition.”

“One man has been arrested on suspicion of GBH is currently in police custody.”

“Enquiries continue. Cordons remain in place at the scene.”
