A 19-year-old man is fighting for life after being stabbed repeatedly in broad daylight in east London

The teenager was rushed to hospital after the incident in Newbury Park, Ilford, on Wednesday afternoon.

Police and paramedics rushed to the scene in Perkins Road, a mile from Newbury Park station, at about 3.45pm.

The man was taken to an east London hospital where he remains in a critical condition, Scotland Yard said.

The road was still cordoned off on Thursday as forensic officers carried out an investigation.

A Met Police spokeswoman said no arrests have been made.
