Gang detectives have launched an investigation after a teenager was shot in Notting Hill.

The 17-year-old youth was found suffering from a gunshot wound in an upmarket cul-de-sac near Portobello Market.

Police said his injuries were not life threatening.

Paramedics were also called to the scene in Colville Gardens at around 10.40pm on Wednesday.

No arrests have been made.

Detectives from the Trident and Area Crime Command are investigating and have appealed for witnesses and information to the shooting.

Meanwhile, Kensington and Chelsea police have pledged to provide more officers in the area in response to the incident.
