A 21-year-old man is in a “serious” condition in hospital after being shot in the leg in south London.

Gang police, investigating the shooting, have made no arrests. Scotland Yard this afternoon refused to rule out a connection between the 4am incident in Ormside Street, Peckham, and a stabbing nearby that left a 19-year-old in hospital three hours later.

“Police were called at 4.11am on Sunday to reports of a shooting in Ormside Street, SE15,” said a Scotland Yard spokeswoman.

“Officers and London Ambulance Service attended the scene and found a 21-year-old man suffering a gunshot injury to his leg.
