This is a CCTV image of the man who police want to trace after a double decker bus was stolen and driven through south east London before it was abandoned at a bus stop.

A man took the Metrobus vehicle from Farnborough Hill bus depot in Orpington at about 9.15am on September 15.

He drove the bus on a countryside route through Farnborough Village and along Farnborough Common in Orpington.

Police described how the man turned into Croydon Road, Croydon, and continued through the borough into Glebe Way, Wickham Court Road, Wickham Road, Bridle Road and Broom Road.

He parked up at a bus stop in Shrublands Avenue in Shirley, Croydon, before walking off.

The bus was left requiring repairs costing £500 after it was scraped along a wall.

Police have released CCTV images of a man they wish to speak to in connection with the investigation.
