Murder squad detectives are hunting this man after a woman died following a fire in a block of flats in north London today.

Peter Holboll, 44, is wanted for questioning after the woman, aged in her 60s, was found dead in a house in Kentish Town. He is believed to have last been seen on Thursday morning.

Police were called to the scene, in Lawford Road, at around 5.43 this morning.

Five other people, including a baby, were rescued from the building after being stranded on the roof.

A man, three women, and the baby were brought to safety by firefighters who had issued them with guidance while they had been trapped.

They had sought refuge on the roof of the building, which had been converted to separate flats, after fleeing the blaze on the first and second floor.

The victim is yet to be identified, and her next of kin have not yet been informed.

Scotland Yard said anyone who sees the man should call 999 immediately and not approach him.

He is described as white, aged in his 40s, around 5'10" or 5'11" tall, with lank black hair, a beard, a green T-shirt and brown trousers.

Anyone with any information is asked to call police on 0208 721 4868 or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
