Police are hunting a woman who allegedly assaulted a toddler in a photo booth in Lewisham Shopping Centre.

The woman reportedly hit the little girl multiple times in the ‘PhotoMe’ booth at the shopping centre on July 18.

She then left the centre on a bus taking the child, aged two or three-years-old, with her.

The assault reportedly happened at around 7:30pm.

Detectives have released an image of the woman, described as 5ft 10, wearing a grey top, black leggings and sandals and carrying a Sports Direct bag.

A police spokeswoman said: "On Monday July 18 at around 7:30pm it was reported that the woman allegedly assaulted a child who was approximately two or three-years-old, by striking her a number of times.

“Detectives from the Met's Sexual Offences Exploitation and Child Abuse Command are investigating.

“Anyone with information is asked to call police on 020 7230 0537 or to remain anonymous, call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
