Roads in Brixton were closed this morning due to a police incident.

Officers were called shortly after 8am to Brixton Road following reports of a man on a ledge near Brixton Police Station.

A Scotland Yard spokesman said: "We were called at 8.16 to Brixton Road, SW9, to reports of a man stood on a first floor ledge by windows.

"London Ambulance Service and London Fire Brigade also attended."

Brixton Road was shut between junctions with Stockwell Road and Stockwell Park Walk, he said.

The road was closed in both directions at Brixton Police Station, with buses 2, 196, 322, 333, and 345 re-routed.

Transport for London said roads reopened around 10am.
