Murder squad detectives are investigating the disappearance of a man who vanished after going outside to take a phone call.
Seyed Khan, 49, has not been seen or heard from after leaving his place of work in Ilford at about 5pm on Wednesday.
Scotland Yard said its Homicide and Major Crime Command has now taken over the investigation into the disappearance of Mr Khan, who is from Thamesmead.
Detective Inspector Richard Leonard said: “It is completely out of character for Mr Khan to be missing and we are deeply concerned to find his whereabouts. I urge anyone with information to contact my team without delay.”
Mr Khan is Asian, around 5f 9ins tall, with short black hair and was wearing blue jeans, a black jacket and grey trainers when he disappeared.
