The shocking moment a 16-year-old boy was shot dead in east London was caught on video before the alleged killers fled through the streets.

CCTV footage from North Woolwich released by police captured a Nissan Juke driving through the roads before arriving at Pier Parade.

The car appears to be parked before two men are seen heading across to where Karim Samms and a friend were sitting.

The footage appears to show at least one of the men produce a gun and open fire. The Evening Standard has edited the video to remove that moment following a request by Karim's family.

Police have released the footage in a bid to track down the vehicle.

Karim was about to become a qualified fitness instructor at Fight for Peace, a boxing academy close to where he died which trains and educates youths to keep them out of gangs.

After his death, his mother Joyce told the Standard: “He was innocent, he wasn’t related to whatever problem they had - that’s what makes it so heartbreaking. He didn’t have a bad bone in his body.

“He was at the wrong place at the wrong time.”

Two 17-year-old boys and another teen, aged 18, have been arrested over the shooting and bailed until August.
