Police have released CCTV footage in an appeal to catch two attackers who ambushed their victim in a Shoreditch pub, leaving him with a serious head injury.

One of the thugs hit him over the head with a pint glass before running off in the assault in the Crown and Shuttle pub.

The attack took place at 10.30pm on Saturday, September 30, 2023, in the pub on Shoreditch High Street.

The victim, in his 30s, suffered an injury to his head and was taken to hospital for treatment.

He has since been discharged and is being supported by officers. Detectives have issued CCTV footage from the night as they appeal to the public for help in the hunt for the attackers.

PC Oliver Barlow, who is leading the investigation, said: “This was a brutal attack that left the victim with a serious injury that required stitches and months of healing.

“We are doing everything we can to find those responsible and have carried out a number of enquiries since the night of the attack, including speaking with witnesses and looking at CCTV.

“We have now identified two men we would like to speak to in connection with the assault and are appealing for help from members of the public to trace them.

“If you were at the Crown and Shuttle pub on the evening of this attack, please look closely at this footage and let us know if you remember seeing either of these men on that night.

"Similarly, if you recognise them or have any information about the incident, please come forward. This may just be the information we need to progress our investigation”.
