Police are renewing their appeals for witnesses after a mother and son were killed by a moving train in a suspected murder-suicide last week.

Rubina Khan, 46, and her son Amar Khan, 10, died after being struck by the train at Slough station at 9.30am on September 23.

British Transport Police said their deaths are “still being treated as suspicious” and are trying to trace anyone who witnessed the incident or their movements beforehand.

Detectives have identified two women who were on platform five at Slough station at the time of the incident they wish to speak to in particular.

Detective Sergeant Andy Nattrass said: “We know the women spoke to another witness at the station – and told her they had seen what happened – but we have yet to trace them.

“Their accounts may be vital in piecing together exactly what happened and it is imperative that we speak to them as soon as possible.

He added: “Of course, we want to hear from anyone with information about Rubina’s and Amaar’s actions last Tuesday. Even the smallest piece of information could be crucial.”
