A stockbroker accused of raping a woman after a cocaine and champagne-fuelled office party said he thought she was crying because of the size of his penis, the Old Bailey heard.

Daniel Green, 26, allegedly attacked the woman after an all-night drug and booze binge at the City offices of brokerage firm StratX.

She claims he pounced on her as she slept under a desk, pulling her trousers and underwear off and raping her while she screamed and tried to crawl away.

The woman said she pleaded with Green to stop, but he only did when she burst out crying.

But Green, giving evidence, said they had kissed consensually and stripped each other naked for sex when he noticed a tear on her face. He told the court he believed the size of his penis had caused her to cry.

"I jumped back and said 'why the f*** are you crying?' I was thinking maybe my penis was hurting her", he said.

"I always have difficulty when it comes to having sex with girls, I find my penis is hard to penetrate females, if I'm honest."

Green said in his last relationship, his girlfriend was always left in pain after intercourse and they could not have sex for a few weeks.

He said they had just begun having sex with the woman started crying and he stopped immediately when he noticed.

Green is accused of raping the woman on May 16 last year, after a party at the StratX offices in Abchurch Lane, near to Monument Station.

They had been out drinking at City bars the night before, and decided to continue the festivities in the office with bottles of champagne and white wine.

Green said the woman's friend had brought "a sh*t load of cocaine" which she shared with the group, and told the court he had two lines of the class A himself during the evening.

She claims he raped her as she slept in an adjacent office, having decided to wait for the first train home as she did not have enough money for a taxi.

But he told the jury they had kissed once alone in the office, and then stripped each other's clothes off so he was only wearing his socks.

"It was all happening in an instant, from the moment we started kissing to being on the floor naked, it was just over a minute", he said.

Green denied dragging the woman towards him, and insisted she had not tried to crawl away or screamed during the encounter.

Green, of Prospect Hill, Walthamstow, denies rape. The trial continues.
