A second teenager has been arrested on suspicion of murder after an aspiring lawyer was stabbed to death in Kilburn.

Police arrested the 19-year-old man on Wednesday afternoon.

A 17-year-old boy was previously arrested on suspicion of murder on Tuesday. Both of the teenagers remain in custody.

Sven Badzak, 22, was picking up a salmon and cream cheese bagel for his mother in Willesden Lane when he was fatally stabbed at about 5.40pm on Saturday.

The Metropolitan Police said a 16-year-old boy was also found suffering stab injuries after fleeing a shop in Willesden Lane. He was taken to hospital where he remains in a stable condition.

A post-mortem examination carried out on Monday confirmed Mr Badzak died of multiple stab wounds.

Mr Badzak was one of two young men killed amid a weekend of bloodshed across London that left 14 others with stab injuries.

His mother, Jasna Badzak, has pleaded for Boris Johnson and the London Mayor Sadiq Khan to do more to end knife crime in the capital.

Anybody with information that can help the investigation is urged to call police on 101 or tweet @MetCC quoting CAD 5580/06Feb.

Alternatively contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
