The 19-year-old was held by police officers from the Met’s Counter Terrorism Command earlier today on suspicion of preparing for acts of terrorism.

An address has since been search in Camden, north London.

The youngster remains in custody at a police station in south London.

A police spokesman said: “The arrest is not in response to any immediate risk or threat.”

The met later confirmed the arrest was “Syria-related.”

Earlier this week two brothers from Stratford pleaded guilty to conspiring to attend a Syrian terrorism-training camp.

An 18-year-old, of Brighton, was also killed fighting in the conflict this April.
