Teenager bailed over rape of 12-year-old girl

A teenager arrested over the rape of a 12-year-old girl has been bailed.

The 17-year-old youth was held on Saturday over the attack just after midnight on July 27 at a row of garages in Walthamstow. He was bailed yesterday until a date in mid-August.

Two 17-year-old boys appeared at Thames Magistrates’ Court on Saturday charged with rape. One was remanded in custody and the other released on conditional bail.

They are due to appear at Snaresbrook Crown Court on Wednesday, August 21.
