A teenager faces a life sentence after he was convicted today of repeatedly raping an 11-year-old London girl in a park after stalking her.

Opemipo Jaji, 18, followed his victim — still in her school uniform — after she got off a bus home then dragged her off the street and subjected her to a horrendous three-hour ordeal.

The Old Bailey heard he has a violent obsession with young white girls in school uniform and just one year before the rape he had carried out a similar attack on another young female pupil.

Police who searched his Edmonton home found child porn on his computer and a book — open on his bed — about an abused girl made pregnant at 10.

After the apprentice chef’s rape conviction by a jury Mr Justice Singh said he is considering a life term when he passes sentence on June 7. Jaji will have to sign the sex offenders register.

Prosecutors praised the victim for her “strength and courage” in giving evidence. Sarah Maclaren, the Crown Prosecution Service’s head of rape and sex offences in London, said: “This was a horrific and vicious attack on a young victim lasting nearly three hours.

“She tried to get away several times but Jaji pulled her back and threatened to stab her. She has helped to bring a dangerous sexual offender to justice.”

The girl told how she had tried desperately to escape after being stripped naked and assaulted, only to be dragged back and abused again. She was convinced she would be killed during the attack in Jubilee Park, Edmonton.

Jaji — who claimed he was to appear on BBC reality show The Voice — was trapped by DNA on his clothing.
