A teenager has been taken to hospital with serious injuries after he was stabbed during a fight on a bus in east London.

The single-decker bus was travelling along Campbell Road, Bow, when the fight broke out in broad daylight at about 1.50pm this afternoon.

Police and the London Ambulance Service found the boy, believed to be 19-years-old, suffering from stab wounds.

A spokesperson for Scotland Yard described his injuries as “non-life-threatening”.

Two people, who police said are of a similar age to the victim, have been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm.

A spokeswoman for the LAS said: “We were called at 1.52pm to reports of a stabbing. We sent a motorcycle responder two ambulance crews and a duty officer to the scene. London’s Air Ambulance also attended.

“We treated one patient reported to be an 18-year-old, he was treated for stab wounds and taken to hospital escorted by the doctor from the air ambulance.”

Campbell Road has been closed and buses are on diversion as police investigate at the scene.
