A teenager has been shot in east London in what police believe was a gang attack.

Officers were called to the junction of Cleves Road and Seymour Road, near Upton Park station, at around 8.30pm last night to reports of a shooting.

The 19-year-old victim was rushed to hospital where he is being treated for a gunshot wound to his leg. The man’s injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

It is though the man was shot by a number of suspects who then left the scene in vehicle, police said.

No arrests have been made and detectives from the Met’s Trident Gang Command are investigating.

Officers are asking anyone with information to call them on 101, or to remain anonymous call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
