A Tuscany estate where Tony Blair holidayed during his premiership has been seized as part of a fraud investigation.

A magistrate has taken control of the 1,300-acre Fattoria di Cusona during the inquiry into the owner, Prince Girolamo Strozzi.

The 75-year-old banking dynasty tycoon is being investigated over alleged misuse of government subsidies.

Mr Blair met the prince in 1997 then began holidaying at his estate, reportedly staying there five times.
