A trail of blood was left on a pavement outside a station after a mugging in south London.

Police said a man was injured after a “grabbed hold of a knife” belonging to a man who demanded money from him during the incident this morning.

Witnesses said a cordon was in place outside Streatham station after police were called to the High Road just after 8am.

A Met Police spokeswoman said: “At this early stage officers believe the victim was approached by man who demanded money from him. A knife was produced and the victim sustained a hand injury by grabbing hold of the knife.”

There have been no arrests and enquiries continue, police said.

The man's injuries are thought to have been minor.
