A man found wandering topless on a north London street with serious burns to his torso and neck is in critical condition in hospital.

Police found the man, thought to be between 25 and 30, in Seven Sisters at about 11pm. He had burns to his torso and neck and was not wearing a shirt. London Ambulance Service took him to hospital.

The man, who is 5ft 11ins tall, speaks very little English, a Met spokesman said. Detectives believe he may be Turkish or Albanian and are now appealing for help identifying him and tracing his family.

“The cause of the injuries is currently being treated as unexplained,” the spokesman said.

It’s thought a passer-by stopped to speak to the man in Seven Sisters Road, by the Amhurst Park junction, some time before police found him in Woodberry Grove. Detectives have no description of the person and want to trace him or her.

The victim has short brown hair and was wearing jeans and black trainers.

Anyone with information, or anyone who is worried about someone who matches the man’s description, should contact police via 101.
