Two 12-year-old boys have been arrested after a man was stabbed and struck with a baseball bat in the street.

The victim, in his 30s, was mobbed by a group of five or six youths in Grosvenor Street, Cheltenham on Friday.

Gloucestershire Police said he was known to his attackers.

Another youth, a 14-year-old boy, was also arrested in connection with the incident.

All three were detained by police on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the attack, which happened at around 5.30pm.

Anyone who may have information on this incident is asked to contact Gloucestershire Police on 101, quoting incident number 383 of May 13.
