Two men who were stabbed within minutes of each other in separate incidents on London's streets have both died, police said.

In the first incident, police were called to Stockwell Station at around 5.38pm where they found a man aged around 30 in a car, which had been involved in a collision with a bus.

He was taken treated at the scene having suffered a cardiac arrest, and was taken to hospital where he later died.

A Scotland Yard spokesman said the victim stabbed in Stockwell was trying to flee the scene after the stabbing when he was found.

"We believe the man had been stabbed nearby prior to getting into the car, in which he appears to have been trying to drive off," he said.

A murder investigation is now underway.

His relatives have been informed.

Crash: Police were called twice to the scene in Stockwell

Police said today the incident may be linked to reports of a fight between a group of males on a bus outside Stockwell Underground station just minutes earlier.

There were no other injuries reported from the fight on the bus, and police said no arrests have been made in relation to that incident.

Clapham Road was closed in both directions last night as a result of the incident, Transport for London said.

Reports on Twitter described the scene as "madness."
