Two men have been arrested on suspicion of terror offences during dawn raids in south east London by counter-terrorism police.

Scotland Yard said the men were held at separate residential addresses in the capital this morning.

One suspect, a 33-year-old man, was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the commission, preparation or instigation of acts of terrorism contrary to section 41 of the Terrorism Act 2000.

Another suspect, a 40-year-old man, was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to possess and supply fraudulent documents.

Both men remain in custody at a central London police station today. Police are searching four residential addresses in south-east London and one in Stoke as part of their investigation.

No firearms officers were deployed during the raids, police said.
