An angry van driver rammed a council CCTV car after erupting in rage over a parking ticket.

Wayne Lione deliberately ploughed into the Sutton Council enforcement car causing £2,100 worth of damage.

The impact was so great that two council officers in the car feared it would flip over and suffered shoulder, head and back injuries.

Lione, 43, of St James Road in Carshalton, Sutton, became angry and aggressive after finding a penalty charge notice on his van in June last year. It was parked near to the CCTV car in Banstead Road, Sutton.

After swearing at the officers, he followed them as they drove off in fear for their safety before swerving into the CCTV car.

Lione was banned from driving for 12 months after admitting dangerous driving at Croydon Crown Court.

He also received a suspended eight month jail sentence and was ordered to carry out 200 hours of community service and pay £100 in fines.
