Police in West Yorkshire believe a convicted violent offender released after serving part of his sentence may have fled to London.

Robert Jones, 54, is said to have been released on licence last October after serving part of his sentence in Huddersfield.

Officers have now launched an appeal to track down the violent offender after he breached the terms of his licence.

West Yorkshire police believe Jones has since travelled to Brighton, Eastbourne, Winchester, London, Oxford, and St Albans.

He is described as 5’6” tall, of medium build, with short grey hair and speaks with a northeast accent.

He also has a number of tattoos including one saying ‘SAM’ on his right wrist and may be wearing a hearing aid.

Anyone who has seen Robert or who has any information on his whereabouts is asked to contact police on 101 quoting crime reference 13220621660 or online at www.westyorkshire.police.uk/101livechat.

Information can also be given anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or online.
