Wandsworth stabbing: Police hunt suspect after man stabbed in fight outside newsagent

Police are hunting a suspect after a man was stabbed in the chest a neck during a fight in a south London street.

The 31-year-old victim was knifed outside a newsagent in Wandsworth in the early hours of the morning.

Officers said the suspect barged into his victim outside a Londis shop in Mitcham Road at about 1am.

A fight broke out between the pair before the victim was stabbed in the chest and neck, police said.

Emergency services raced to the scene of the incident, which happened on Sunday, August 20.

Paramedics rushed the victim to hospital where he made a full recovery and has since been discharged.

Police today released CCTV footage of the suspect, who is described as a man in his thirties, 5ft 5ins tall and wore a black hood.

Officers are keen to hear from anyone who may recognise the man shown on CCTV or who witnessed the incident.

No arrests have been made and enquiries continue.
