A wanted man who taunted police to “keep up if you can” has been banned from driving and sentenced to eight weeks.

Nathan Bick, 18, challenged police in Wandsworth to catch him after they put out an appeal on Facebook following a series of motorbike thefts in the area.

Bick – who was described as one of the borough police’s “most wanted” – commented on the social media post three times in a bizarre exchange telling officers to “keep up”.

A woman commented on the appeal saying she would contact police if she spotted Bick, who replied and said: “Hopefully I see you two [sic] love.”

'Keep up if you can,' Bick told police.

Wandsworth Police replied to the wanted man and said: “Might as well hand yourself in now, Nathan.”

He replied with a laughing emoji and said: “Just keep up if you can.”

Bick has since been sentenced to eight weeks in a young offender’s institute and fined £115, officers said.

He has also been disqualified from driving for two years.

At the time Wandsworth Police told the Standard Bick’s comment “provides us with a further opportunity to make a direct appeal for them to hand themselves in”.
